Just want Guillermo González Camarena?
Hello. My name is Guillermo González Camarena. When I was a little boy, born in Mexico in 1917, I loved to build things. I would find old, broken radios and toys, take them apart to see how they worked, and then put them back together. I even built my own radio when I was just a boy so I could listen to music and stories from far away.
As I grew up, I became an engineer. I loved watching television, but back then, all the pictures were in black and white. I thought, 'Wouldn't it be wonderful to see everything in bright, beautiful colors, just like a rainbow?'. I had a big idea. I went to my laboratory and worked very hard. In 1940, I invented a special system that could add color to television. It was so exciting to see red, blue, and green on the screen for the very first time.
My invention meant that people all over the world could enjoy colorful shows. It made watching television so much more fun. I also started my own television station in Mexico in 1952. I lived to be 48 years old, and I am so happy that my colorful idea brought joy to so many people. Every time you see a bright, colorful show, you can think of the boy who loved to build things and dreamed of putting a rainbow on TV.
