Just want Ibn Sina?
Hello! My name is Ibn Sina, though some people in other parts of the world came to know me as Avicenna. I was born a very long time ago, around the year 980, in a small village near the city of Bukhara, which is in a land now called Uzbekistan. Even when I was a little boy, I was filled with a giant curiosity about everything. I read every book I could find and loved to ask questions. By the time I was 10 years old, I had already memorized the entire Qur'an. I didn't just love religion, though; I was fascinated by numbers, poetry, and the stars in the night sky. My mind was like a sponge, soaking up all the knowledge the world had to offer.
As I grew, I realized what I wanted to do most was help people. That’s why I decided to study medicine. It was a wonderful puzzle to figure out how the human body worked and how to make people feel better when they were sick. I read all the old medical books from the Greeks and added my own ideas. I worked so hard that by the time I was 16, I was already a doctor! A few years later, around 997, the ruler of Bukhara, Sultan Nuh ibn Mansur, became very ill. None of his doctors could help him, but I did! As a reward, he let me use his amazing royal library. It was like a dream come true, with books on every subject I could imagine. I spent countless hours there, learning more than I ever thought possible.
My life was not always easy. Because of wars and changing rulers, I often had to move from city to city. Sometimes I worked for powerful leaders, and other times I even had to hide. But no matter where I was or what was happening, I never stopped learning and writing. I wanted to share everything I knew with the world. I wrote hundreds of books, but two became very famous. One was called 'The Canon of Medicine,' which I finished around the year 1025. It was a huge encyclopedia of everything known about medicine at the time. I wrote about how some diseases can spread from one person to another and the importance of testing medicines carefully. My other giant book was 'The Book of Healing,' which wasn't just about the body, but about ideas, science, and the soul.

I lived a long and busy life filled with discovery, and I passed away in the year 1037. I lived to be about 57 years old. For hundreds of years after my time, doctors and students all over the world, from Persia to Europe, studied my books to learn how to heal the sick. People remember me today as the 'Prince of Physicians' and one of the first great thinkers to combine science and philosophy. My story shows that if you stay curious and never stop asking questions, you can discover amazing things that can help people for many, many years to come.
