Just want Imhotep?
Hello. My name is Imhotep. I lived a very, very long time ago, around the year 2650 BC, in a warm, sunny place called Egypt. The big Nile River flowed nearby, and we built our homes from mud bricks. I loved learning new things, and I loved helping people.
My friend was a very important person. He was a king named Djoser. One day, King Djoser asked me to build a special place for him. I had a big, new idea. Instead of making a flat building, I decided to stack big stone blocks on top of each other. They were like giant building blocks. Each block was a little smaller than the one below it. It went up, up, up into the sky. This became the very first Step Pyramid. It was tall and amazing.
Building the big pyramid wasn't the only thing I did. I was also like a doctor. When people were sick or felt hurt, I would help them feel better. I loved finding ways to care for others. I lived a very long and full life. Even today, so many years later, people remember me for the amazing pyramid I built. They also remember me for being one of the very first doctors who helped so many people in my home of ancient Egypt. It makes me happy to know that my ideas helped others and are still remembered now.
