Just want Isaac Asimov?
Hello! My name is Isaac Asimov, and I spent my life dreaming about the future. I was born around January 2nd, 1920, in a small village in Russia called Petrovichi. When I was only three years old, in 1923, my family and I moved all the way to America. We settled in Brooklyn, New York, where my parents ran candy stores. Those stores were my magical kingdom because they were filled with magazines, and I taught myself to read when I was just five years old so I could dive into all the amazing science fiction stories. I would sit for hours, imagining rocket ships, distant planets, and friendly robots.
I loved learning as much as I loved reading. I studied very hard and went to Columbia University to learn all about chemistry. After many years of experiments and study, I earned my Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1948. In 1949, I became a professor at Boston University, where I taught students about the amazing science of living things. But even as a scientist, I couldn't stop the stories from bubbling up in my mind. I had started writing when I was a teenager, and my first story was published in a magazine in 1939. For a while, I was a scientist by day and a writer by night, living in two wonderful worlds at once.
Eventually, around 1958, I decided to become a full-time writer because I had so many ideas I wanted to share. I am probably most famous for my stories about robots. In my book 'I, Robot,' published in 1950, I came up with three special rules for them, which I called the 'Three Laws of Robotics.' These rules were designed to make sure robots would always be safe and helpful to humans. I also wrote a giant story spread across many books called the 'Foundation' series, which began with the first book in 1951. It was about a huge empire of humans living on planets all across the galaxy! But I didn't just write science fiction. I wrote books about almost everything you can imagine—history, the stars, how the body works, and even jokes. In my lifetime, I wrote or edited over 500 books!

I lived a long and very busy life, filled with writing, science, and imagination. I lived to be 72 years old. Today, people remember me for my stories that made them dream about the future and think about what is possible. My ideas, especially the Three Laws of Robotics, are still talked about by scientists and engineers who are building the technology of tomorrow. I hope my books continue to make you feel curious and excited about our amazing universe.
