Jesus of Nazareth

Hello, my name is Jesus. My story begins in a small town called Bethlehem, where I was born around the year 4 BCE. My mother was Mary, and my earthly father, Joseph, was a kind man who worked as a carpenter. I grew up in a different town called Nazareth, which was a busy place full of families and neighbors. As a boy, I spent many hours with Joseph in his workshop, learning how to measure, cut, and shape wood. He taught me his trade, and I learned the importance of hard work and building things that last. My childhood was simple, filled with the love of my family and the deep faith we shared. We learned stories and prayers together, and this shaped the person I would become. Life in Nazareth taught me about community and the everyday lives of the people I would one day hope to help.

When I was about thirty years old, around the year 28 CE, I understood that I had a special purpose to fulfill. My journey began when I traveled to the Jordan River to meet my cousin, John the Baptist. There, in the flowing water, he baptized me, which was a very important moment that marked the start of my new path. After that, I left my home and began to travel through the region of Galilee. I walked from village to village, speaking to people in open fields, in their homes, and by the sea. I shared my message about God's love for everyone. As I traveled, I gathered a group of twelve close followers who became known as my disciples. Men like Peter and John chose to leave their own work behind to journey with me. They helped me share my teachings and were my closest friends during my travels.

I wanted to make my teachings easy for everyone to understand, so I often told simple stories called parables. These weren't just ordinary tales; they held deeper meanings about how to live a good life. For example, I told the story of the Good Samaritan to show that kindness should be given to everyone, even strangers. The most important ideas I shared were to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself. I believed that treating others with compassion and respect was the greatest rule to live by. My followers also wrote about times when I helped people in amazing ways, which they called miracles. They described how I healed people who were sick, helping them feel whole and strong again. One famous story tells of a time when I fed a huge crowd of five thousand hungry people with just a few loaves of bread and a couple of fish, showing that a little bit of kindness can go a long way.

My journey eventually led me to the great city of Jerusalem around the year 33 CE. When I arrived, many people welcomed me with joy and excitement. They had heard about my teachings and were eager to listen. However, not everyone was happy to see me. Some of the city's powerful leaders felt worried by what I was teaching. They saw my growing popularity as a threat to their authority and the old way of doing things. Before things became too difficult, I shared one final, special meal with my disciples. We now call this the Last Supper. During this meal, I asked them to always remember me and the lessons I had shared with them. It was a quiet, serious moment, and it prepared the way for my arrest and my trial before the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate.

Those powerful leaders had me put to death on a cross, a method called crucifixion. But my story did not end there. My followers believe that three days later, I came back to life, and this belief gave them incredible hope and courage. I lived to be about 33 years old. My teachings about love, forgiveness, and hope did not disappear; they became the foundation for a worldwide faith known as Christianity. For thousands of years, my parables and my message to love one another have continued to inspire billions of people around the world to live with kindness and compassion.
