Just want Johannes Gutenberg?
Hello! My name is Johannes Gutenberg. I was born in a busy town called Mainz, in Germany, way back around the year 1400. When I was a boy, I didn't have video games or TVs. Instead, I loved watching my family work with shiny metals, shaping them into coins. I learned how to be a goldsmith and a blacksmith, and I became very good at making things with my hands.
In my time, books were very special and very rare. That's because every single book had to be written by hand with a pen and ink. It could take a whole year just to make one copy of a book! I thought that was much too slow. I dreamed of a way to share stories and ideas with everyone, not just a few people who could afford such special books.
I had an idea—a big one! What if I made little metal blocks for every letter of the alphabet? I could arrange the letters to spell out words, sentences, and whole pages. Then, I could cover them in a special sticky ink and press a piece of paper on top. Presto! I could make a printed page. Using this method, I could make hundreds of copies in the time it took someone to write just one by hand. I called my invention a printing press.
To show everyone what my printing press could do, I decided to print a very important book: the Bible. It was a huge job that took a lot of work and time. My team and I worked very hard, and around the year 1455, we finished printing the Bibles. The books were beautiful, with clear, perfect letters on every page, and people were amazed. My invention worked just as I had hoped!

I lived a full life and passed away in 1468. My invention changed the world forever. Because of my printing press, books became easier and cheaper to make. Ideas could travel faster than ever before, and more people learned how to read. Every time you pick up a printed book, you are holding a piece of my dream.
