Just want Louis XIV?
Hello! My name is Louis XIV, and I was a king of France. I was born on September 5th, 1638. Something very surprising happened to me when I was just four years old. In the year 1643, my father passed away, and I became the new king! Can you imagine being a king when you are that little? Since I was too young to make big decisions all by myself, my kind mother, Anne of Austria, helped me. She was very wise and helped rule the country for me until I was old enough to do it on my own.
As I grew up, I discovered that I loved beautiful things. I especially enjoyed parties, listening to wonderful music, and most of all, dancing! I was a very good dancer. One time, for a special ballet performance, I dressed up in a dazzling costume that looked just like the sun. After that, everyone started calling me the 'Sun King,' and I liked that nickname very much. I had a big dream to build the most beautiful palace in the world. I started with a small hunting lodge and began changing it around the year 1661. It grew and grew until it became the magnificent Palace of Versailles. It had a room called the Hall of Mirrors that sparkled with light, and outside, there were huge, colorful gardens where we held amazing festivals. In 1682, I moved my entire court to live there with me.
I was the king of France for a very, very long time—more than 72 years! During my long reign, I wanted to make France a special place that was known all over the world for its art and culture. I invited many talented people to my palace. Artists came to paint beautiful pictures, writers came to create wonderful stories and plays, and musicians came to compose lovely songs. I wanted my home at Versailles to be filled with creativity and beauty for everyone to enjoy.

My long time as king came to an end in 1715. I lived to be 76 years old. I am remembered for making France a center for art and beauty that people still admire. The best part is that my amazing home, the Palace of Versailles, is still standing today. People can visit it and walk through the sparkling halls and beautiful gardens, seeing the magical world that I created so long ago.
