M. C. Escher: The Artist of Amazing Puzzles

Hello! My name is Maurits, but my friends called me Mauk. I was an artist, which means I loved to draw and create pictures. My favorite thing to make was art that played fun tricks on your eyes! I liked to draw things that looked real but couldn't actually happen. It was like making a little bit of magic with my pencil and paper. I loved making pictures that made people smile and wonder.
