Just want Menkaure?
Hello. My name is Menkaure. I was a king in Egypt, and kings were called pharaohs. I lived a very, very long time ago, around the year 2500 B.C. My home was a warm and sunny land. A big, long river called the Nile River flowed nearby. It made the land a wonderful place to live.
I had a family of amazing builders. My grandpa was named Khufu, and he built the biggest pyramid ever. It was so tall it looked like it touched the sky. My dad, Khafre, built his pyramid right next to my grandpa’s. It was big and strong, too. I loved what my family built, and I wanted to build my own special pyramid. In Egypt, a pyramid was a forever-home for a pharaoh after their life was over. I wanted mine to be beautiful.
My pyramid is the smallest of the three big ones at a place called Giza, but I always thought it was very special. Artists made wonderful statues of me that looked just like me. I lived a long, long time ago. But even now, people can visit the land of Egypt and see the three pyramids my family and I built. They still stand tall under the warm sun, showing everyone our story.
