Hello! My name is Paul Cézanne. I was a painter, which means I loved to make pictures with brushes and colorful paints. I was born on January 19th, 1839, in a sunny town in France called Aix-en-Provence. Even when I was a little boy, I loved to draw and create.
I didn't paint pictures of kings or queens. I loved to paint the simple things I saw every day. I would look at yummy red apples and bright oranges in a bowl and paint them. I also loved painting a big mountain near my home. Its name was Mont Sainte-Victoire. I painted that mountain over and over again, in sunny weather and on cloudy days, because I thought it was so beautiful.
My paintings looked a little different from other pictures. I used chunky shapes and lots of colors in my own special way. At first, not everyone understood my art, but that was okay. I kept painting what I loved. I lived to be 67 years old. Today, people all over the world go to big buildings called museums to see my colorful paintings of apples and mountains. They remember me as a painter who helped everyone see the world in a whole new way.
