Just want Paul Gauguin?
Hello, my name is Paul Gauguin, and I am an artist. I love to paint with all the colors of the rainbow. A long, long time ago, in the year 1848, I was born, and even as a little boy, I loved to look at colors. When I looked at the world, I saw bright sunshine yellows, deep ocean blues, and leafy greens. I saw red flowers and purple mountains. I wanted to take all these beautiful colors and put them on a canvas for everyone to see. I wanted to fill my paintings with all the amazing colors I could imagine. It made me feel so happy to mix the paints and create something brand new.
One day, in the year 1891, I decided to go on a very big adventure. I wanted to see new places and new colors. I sailed on a big boat across the giant, blue sea to a faraway island called Tahiti. When I got there, it was like a dream. The sun was warm on my skin, and the flowers were brighter than any I had ever seen. The people were so friendly and had wonderful smiles. I saw tall, swaying palm trees that reached up to the sky, and I ate sweet, juicy fruit right from the trees. Everything was so new and exciting. The air smelled sweet, and the water was a beautiful blue. This amazing place made me want to paint all day long, every single day.
I took out my brushes and my paints and painted everything I saw on my new island home. I painted the smiling people and the colorful clothes they wore. I painted the funny animals and the beautiful nature all around me. My paintings were full of the bright sunshine and the happy feelings of the island. I lived to be 54 years old. Today, many years after my adventure, people can see my paintings in big museums all over the world. When they look at them, they can feel the warm sun and see the beautiful colors of the islands, just like I did. My paintings share the joy I felt so long ago.
