Just want Robert the Bruce?
Hello, my name is Robert the Bruce. A long time ago, in the year 1274, I was born in a beautiful land called Scotland. I loved my home very much. It had tall, green mountains and sparkly lakes that shined in the sun. When I was a little boy, I had a very big dream. I wanted to grow up and become the king of Scotland. I wanted to be a good king and help all the people in my wonderful country.
Trying to become king was not easy. It was very, very hard, and sometimes it made me feel sad and want to give up. One day, I was hiding in a cave, feeling tired and lonely. Inside the cave, I saw a small spider. I watched the little spider as it tried to spin its web. It worked so hard, but it kept falling down. But the amazing thing was, the spider never stopped trying. Every time it fell, it climbed right back up and started again.
Watching that little spider made me feel brave. I thought to myself, if a tiny spider can keep trying, so can I. So, just like the spider, I tried again and again. And guess what? I did it. I became the King of Scotland. As king, I worked very hard to keep my country safe and all my people happy. I always remembered the lesson that little spider taught me in the cave.
I lived a full life and passed away in the year 1329. Even today, people in Scotland and all over the world still tell the story of me and the spider. They remember that it is always important to be brave and to never, ever give up, no matter how hard something feels. Remembering to try and try again is a wonderful lesson for everyone.
