A Biography of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Hello! My name is Vallabhbhai Patel. Many people call me Sardar, which means 'leader.' I was born a long time ago, on October 31st, 1875, in a place in India called Gujarat. Even when I was a little boy, I knew I wanted to help people. I dreamed of making my country a happy and strong place for everyone to live.

When I grew up, India was like a big puzzle with many different pieces called princely states. After India became free in the year 1947, my very important job was to bring all of those puzzle pieces together. I wanted to make one big, strong country where everyone worked together as one team. I worked very hard to do this. Because I was strong and never gave up, people started to call me the 'Iron Man of India.' I also worked with my good friend, Mahatma Gandhi, to help our country.

My dream of a united India came true, and all the pieces came together to create the wonderful country we know today. I lived to be 75 years old. People remember me for helping to bring everyone together and for building a strong and unified nation. My story shows that when we all work together, we can do amazing things!
