The story

Juana Inés: The Girl Who Loved Books

Hello. My name is Juana Inés. A long, long time ago, I was a little girl who loved books more than anything. I loved books more than playing with toys. My grandfather had a big, wonderful room filled with books. It was his library. I would sneak in and look at all the words and pictures. I learned how to read there, and it felt like magic. Reading was my favorite thing to do because I wanted to learn about everything in the world.

When I grew up, I knew I wanted to keep learning forever. I needed a special, quiet place where I could read and think all day long. I found a peaceful home called a convent. There, I could have my very own library with hundreds of books. It was my dream. I spent my days reading, studying, and writing. I wrote beautiful poems that rhymed and little stories called plays. I wrote about the stars, about music, and about everything I saw and imagined.

My poems and my writings became famous, and many people read my words. They gave me a special nickname, 'The Tenth Muse,' because they loved what I wrote so much. I lived a full life, always surrounded by my wonderful books and ideas. Today, people still read the words I wrote a long time ago. I hope my story helps you feel curious about the world and shows you that learning is a wonderful adventure.
