Just want Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen?
Before I was written on paper, I was a happy whisper in people's hearts. I was an idea, like a little seed waiting to grow. In a beautiful country called France, a long, long time ago, people were dreaming. They dreamed of a world where everyone could be friends and share everything. They wanted everyone to be treated with kindness. I am not made of stone or paint. I am made of very important words and big, bright ideas about being fair and kind to everyone, no matter what.
Hello! I am the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. That's a very long name, isn't it? You can think of me as a big promise. In the sunny summer of 1789, a group of smart and caring people came together in France. They were called the National Assembly. They decided it was time to write down all those happy whispers and big ideas to make a special promise for everyone. On a special day, August 26th, 1789, they finished writing me! My words say that all people are born free, like little birds in the sky. My words say everyone should be treated like a friend, and everyone has the right to be happy and safe.
I am like a rulebook for kindness! My job is to remind everyone, big and small, that they are special and important. I tell people they have rights, like being able to share their feelings and play safely in the park. My bright ideas traveled like sunshine all over the world, helping people everywhere think about how to be fair. Even today, when you share your toys with a friend or take turns on the slide, you are using my ideas! I am a promise of fairness that helps us all be better friends to each other. That promise never, ever fades, and it helps make the world a happier place for you and for me.
