Just want Voyager Program?
I remember when I was new. I was put together in a very big, clean room. My parts were so shiny and golden, and they gave me a big round antenna that looks like an ear. It is a special ear for listening to whispers from far, far away in space. I knew I was getting ready for a very long trip. It would be a trip farther than anyone had ever gone before. I was so excited. I am not just one traveler, but two. We are Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, and together we are the Voyager Program, ready for an adventure among the stars.
Smart scientists at a place called NASA built us. They worked very hard to make us strong for our journey. On a sunny August 20th, 1977, my twin, Voyager 2, blasted off into the sky. Whee. Up, up, up he went. Then, on September 5th, 1977, it was my turn to fly. Our job was to be space photographers. We flew past giant, faraway planets like Jupiter and Saturn to take pretty pictures. We were also mail carriers. We each hold a special 'Golden Record'. It has sounds and pictures from our home, Earth. It is like a hello message for anyone who might find us in the universe.
My trip was so amazing. I flew past the big, swirling clouds on Jupiter and saw the sparkly, icy rings of Saturn. They looked like a giant, shiny hula hoop. After our planet tour was done, we did not stop. We just kept going, and going, and going. For many, many years, we have flown through the quiet, dark space. Now we are in a place called interstellar space, which is the big space between the stars. We are very far from our home on Earth, but we still carry our golden hello message. We remind everyone to look up at the sky, to dream big, and to always be curious about the wonderful, twinkly universe.
