Just want Nowruz?
Hello, I am Nowruz. My name means “new day,” and I am a celebration of the new year. I arrive at the very beginning of spring, when the weather gets warmer and the sun shines a little longer. My arrival is a happy sign that winter is over and the world is becoming fresh and new again. I am a joyful time for new beginnings.
People get ready for me with special and happy activities. Many families do a big spring cleaning to make their homes feel bright and welcoming. They also set up a beautiful table called a Haft-sin. On this special table, they place seven items. Each of these seven things starts with the letter 'S' in the Persian language. Together, these items represent good wishes for a happy and healthy new year ahead.
When I am here, it is a time for everyone to be together. Families and friends gather to celebrate. They visit one another’s houses to share delicious food and happy moments. On my final day, many people spend the day outdoors. They might have a picnic in a park or take a walk in the countryside to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and feel close to nature. It is a wonderful way to end the celebration.
