The story

The Glowing City of Cíbola

There once was a girl named Tala who lived in a very special village. Her house was made from warm, brown earth, and when the sun shined on it, it glowed like golden honey. It was so beautiful. Long ago, some travelers heard stories about her home and thought it was a magical place filled with gold. They started a wonderful story that people still tell today, the myth of the Seven Cities of Cíbola.

One sunny morning, some visitors arrived in Tala's village. They had traveled a very long way on a big adventure, looking for cities made of shiny, solid gold. They looked at the warm, glowing houses and wondered where the treasure was. With wide eyes, they searched for sparkly walls and glittering doors. They thought Cíbola was a place of jewels, but the village's treasure was different. A very special, different treasure.

Little Tala wanted to show them the real treasures of her home. She pointed to the fields where the corn grew, shining like yellow sunbeams. She showed them the river that sparkled and danced in the light. Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. The real treasure was their happy homes, their families laughing together, and the warm sunshine that made everything beautiful. The visitors learned that the best treasure isn't something you can hold, but a feeling of love and home. The story of Cíbola teaches us to look for the sparkle in the world around us every single day.
