Just want Paris, France?
Imagine a city where a giant iron tower sparkles against the night sky, its lights twinkling like stars brought down to earth. Can you smell the warm, sweet scent of fresh croissants floating from a little bakery? Picture artists with colorful paints, dabbing their brushes by a wide, gentle river that flows through the middle of it all. People stroll along my sidewalks with smiles on their faces, filled with wonder. I am a place where stories and dreams are born. I am Paris, the City of Light.
My story begins a very long time ago, more than 2,000 years in the past. I wasn't always a big, bustling city. At first, I was a small village called Lutetia, built on an island in the middle of the River Seine. The people who first lived here were called the Parisii, and they are how I got my name. Over hundreds of years, I grew bigger and bigger. In the year 1163, my people started building a magnificent stone church called Notre-Dame Cathedral. They carved friendly monster statues called gargoyles to sit high on its walls, and I like to think they are my special guardians, watching over all my streets and all my friends.
As I grew, I needed to keep my kings safe. Around the year 1190, a strong castle was built for protection. It had thick walls and tall towers. That castle was called the Louvre. But as time went on, it changed. It grew into a beautiful palace where kings and queens lived. Then, on August 10th, 1793, it opened its doors in a new way. It became a museum, a special house for art, so that everyone, not just royalty, could come inside and see amazing things. Today, the most famous painting in the world, the Mona Lisa, lives there, sharing her secret smile with visitors from all over the world.

One of my most exciting times was when I hosted a huge party for the whole world. It was called the World's Fair, and it happened in the year 1889. To celebrate, a brilliant man decided to build something spectacular. On January 28th, 1887, work began on a giant tower made of iron. Some people called it my iron giraffe because it was so tall. At first, not everyone liked it. They thought it looked strange. But soon, everyone fell in love with my Eiffel Tower. Now, it is my most famous symbol, and every night, it sparkles with thousands of lights, reminding everyone to look up and dream.
Today, my story continues with every person who walks my cobblestone streets. People from all over the world come to see my beautiful art, have picnics by my river, and listen to music in my gardens. I am a city for dreamers, for artists, and for friends. I am filled with history, but I am also making new memories every single day. I am always here, waiting to share my stories and create new ones with you.
