The story

I Am Active Listening

Hi there. My name is Active Listening. I am the special skill of listening with your whole body—your ears, your eyes, and your heart. I help you understand what your friends and family are really saying.

When your friend is sad because their toy broke, I help you stop what you're doing. You can look at their face and listen to their words. This shows your friend that you care, and it helps them feel so much better.

I am also very helpful when a grown-up is talking. When your teacher explains how to play a new game, I help your brain listen to all the rules. That way, you know exactly how to play and have fun.

I continue to help people today by making friendships stronger and helping everyone understand each other. When you use me, you are being a kind and wonderful friend. You can use me every single day.
