The story

Hello, It's Me, Gratitude

Hi there. You might not see me, but you can definitely feel me. I am Gratitude. I’m that warm, happy feeling you get when your friend shares their lunch on the second day of school because you forgot yours, or when your family plans a surprise for your twelfth birthday. I am the feeling of thankfulness that swells in your chest. I show up when you take a moment to notice the good things happening around you, whether they are big or small. My purpose is to help you see the kindness and beauty that exists in your world, even on days that feel tough. I am here to help you appreciate what you have and the people who care about you.

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget I’m here. When you’re focused on what went wrong, like missing the winning shot in a game or getting a lower grade than you hoped for, I can feel very far away. But finding me again is like exercising a muscle; it starts small and gets stronger with practice. Maybe you notice the perfect weather for a walk outside, or you remember a funny joke your sibling told that made you laugh. When you decide to start a journal on January 1st to write down three good things that happened each day, you are inviting me in and helping me grow. The more you practice, the stronger I become. I help you build stronger friendships by reminding you to say 'thank you' and truly mean it. I connect you more deeply with your family when you realize all the little things they do for you. I don't make problems disappear, but I do change your perspective, helping you find strength and happiness in your everyday life.
