My Quiet Time

Sometimes my body feels full of wiggles, or my brain feels a little tired from playing and learning. Having quiet time is like giving my body and brain a little hug and a short rest. It’s a special, calm time so I can feel ready for more fun later.

To have quiet time, first I find a cozy spot, like a soft pillow corner or a comfy chair. Next, I choose one quiet thing to do, like looking through a picture book, cuddling a stuffed animal, or just lying down and breathing slowly. During quiet time, I use a soft voice or no voice at all, and my body is gentle and still. I can listen for little sounds, like a bird outside or my own soft breathing.

Taking a quiet break helps my body feel rested and calm, especially if I was feeling grumpy or had too much energy. It gives my brain a chance to get ready for the next part of my day, like snack time or playing outside. After quiet time, I often feel happier and ready for my next adventure.
