A Quiet Break for My Brain
I know that my brain needs a special break, just like my body needs to rest after I run around. I call this quiet time. It is a time for me to be calm and still, away from noisy toys, TVs, or games. Taking this time helps my busy brain rest and recharge its energy.
To have my quiet time, I first find a cozy spot, like a corner with soft pillows or a comfy chair. Next, I make sure that any screens and loud noises are turned off. Then, I choose one calm thing to do. I might look at a picture book, draw something, or work on a puzzle. Sometimes, I just close my eyes and listen to my own breathing.
I find it helpful to take a quiet break after a long day at school when I feel tired. I also use it when I feel frustrated because a toy is not working the way I want it to. Taking a quiet pause helps me feel better, so I can go back and try again with a clear mind.
Quiet time is like a superpower that helps me feel peaceful and less grumpy. It gives my brain the energy it needs to learn new things and helps me handle big feelings in a calm way. This practice is important because it gives me a tool to feel balanced and ready for my day.
