How I Use the Toilet
I know it’s time to use the toilet when my body gives me a special signal. Sometimes it feels like a little wiggle, or I get a certain feeling in my tummy. This is my body’s way of telling me, 'I need to go!' I know it is important to listen to this signal right away. Going to the bathroom when my body tells me helps me stay comfortable and prevents accidents. It is a great way I take care of my body.
When I feel the signal, I have a few simple steps I follow. First, I go into the bathroom and close the door so I can have privacy. I pull my pants down and sit on the toilet seat. After I pee or poop, I use toilet paper to wipe myself until I am clean. Then, I pull my pants back up, stand up, and push the handle to flush everything away. My last step is the most important one for staying healthy. I always wash my hands with soap and warm water to get rid of all the germs. Learning to use the toilet properly is an important skill that helps me stay healthy. By listening to my body and keeping myself clean, especially by washing my hands, I can stop germs from spreading. This keeps me and the people around me from getting sick.
