The story

A Story from Carlo Collodi

Hello! My name is Carlo. I lived in a beautiful, sunny country called Italy. Ever since I was a little boy, I loved to write stories. I would imagine wonderful adventures and write them down for everyone to read. When I wrote my stories, I used a special name: Carlo Collodi.

My most famous story is about a little puppet made of wood. His name was Pinocchio! He was not just any puppet. He could walk and talk and laugh just like a real boy. More than anything in the world, Pinocchio wanted to be a real boy. But he had a little problem. Whenever he told a fib, his nose would grow longer and longer! It was a very funny thing to see.

I wrote many stories in my life and lived to be 63 years old. Even today, children all around the world still read about my little wooden friend, Pinocchio. His adventures are in books and movies, reminding everyone that it is always best to be brave, truthful, and kind. I am so happy that my stories still make you smile.
