Diego and His Football
Hello. My name is Diego Maradona. A long time ago, in the year 1960, I was born in a country called Argentina. When I was a little boy, my best friend was my football. I loved it so much. I would take it with me everywhere I went. I kicked my football all around my neighborhood. It bounced on the street and rolled in the grass. Playing with my football always, always made me feel happy. It was my favorite thing to do.
When I grew up, I got to play football for my whole country. I wore a special shirt with blue and white stripes when I played for my team, Argentina. In 1986, we played in a very big game called the World Cup. It was so exciting. I ran very fast and I scored goals to help my team win the game. Everyone in my country was so happy. They cheered and danced when we won. Making people smile with my football was the best feeling in the world.
My whole life was about playing football. It brought so much happiness to me and to people all over the world who watched me play. I lived to be 60 years old. People remember me for loving the game so much. They also remember the happy dances I would do on the field when I was excited. My story shows that when you find something you love to do, you can have so much fun and share that joy with everyone.
