Just want Diego Maradona?
Hello, my name is Diego Maradona, and people all over the world know me for the magic I could create with a football. My story begins on October 30th, 1960, in a small, humble neighborhood near the big city of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Growing up, I didn't have many toys, but I had the one thing I loved most in the world: a football. That ball was my best friend. I would take it everywhere with me, practicing my skills on dusty streets and in empty lots. I learned to make the ball do exactly what I wanted it to do. When I was a boy, I joined my very first team. We called ourselves 'Los Cebollitas,' which means 'The Little Onions.' We were a fantastic team, full of kids who loved the game just as much as I did. We worked so hard and played so well together that we never lost a single game.
My dream was always to play football for a living, and that dream started to come true when I was still a teenager. I'll never forget the date: October 20th, 1976. I was only 15 years old when I made my debut playing for a professional team called Argentinos Juniors. It was the most exciting day of my life! I played with them for several years, but my heart belonged to another team. In 1981, I joined Boca Juniors, the team I had cheered for my entire childhood. Playing for them felt like a dream. But my journey was just beginning. Soon, the world wanted to see me play. In 1982, I made a big move across the ocean to Europe to play for a famous club called Barcelona in Spain. A couple of years later, in 1984, I moved again, this time to a team called Napoli in Italy. This move would change my life, and the history of that city, forever.

My greatest moments came when I was playing for my country, Argentina. In 1986, I was chosen to be the captain of our national team for the FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Leading my teammates onto the field with the whole world watching was an incredible feeling. Our most famous match was the quarter-final against England. In that game, I scored two goals that people still talk about today. The first one was very clever and a bit sneaky; I used my hand to help score it, and it became known as the 'Hand of God.' But the second goal was pure magic. I took the ball and dribbled past almost the entire other team to score. Many people called it the 'Goal of the Century.' The best feeling of all was at the end of the tournament, when we lifted the trophy and became the champions of the world. The very next year, in 1987, I helped my club team, Napoli, win the Italian championship for the very first time. I became a hero to the people of Naples, and they treated me like family.
After my playing days were over, I couldn't stay away from the game I adored. I became a coach, sharing my knowledge and passion with a new generation of players. My life was like an exciting football match, with amazing highs that felt like scoring a winning goal, and some difficult lows that felt like a tough loss. But through it all, my love for the game never faded. I lived to be 60 years old. Today, I am remembered for bringing joy and magic to football fields around the globe. My story shows that even a small kid from a humble neighborhood with a ball and a big dream can achieve anything they put their heart into.
