Jules Verne: A Life of Adventure

Hello! My name is Jules Verne. I was born a long, long time ago, in the year 1828. When I was a little boy, I lived in a city in France called Nantes, right next to the sea. I loved watching the big ships sail in and out of the harbor. Seeing them made me dream about having big adventures and exploring the whole wide world. I wanted to see everything there was to see.

I could not go on all the adventures I dreamed of, so I decided to write them down instead! I used my big imagination to create exciting stories for everyone to read. In the year 1870, I wrote a book about a submarine that could explore deep under the ocean. I also wrote about a trip all the way to the moon in a special rocket, and a fast race around the world. My books were filled with fantastic machines and brave explorers who went to amazing places.

I wrote many, many books during my life. I lived to be 77 years old. Even today, children and grown-ups love to read my stories. My adventures live on in my books, inspiring everyone to dream big and imagine all the wonderful places we can go.
