Hello! My name is Sinan, and I was a great builder, also called an architect. I was born a long, long time ago, around the year 1490. When I was a little boy, I did not have toy blocks like you might have. Instead, I used real wood and stones to build things. I loved figuring out how to make my little buildings strong and beautiful. It was my favorite game to play all day long.
When I grew up, I became a very special builder. In the year 1538, I started working for a very important leader called a sultan. He asked me to build amazing places for everyone to enjoy. I designed huge mosques with giant, round tops called domes that looked like the sky. I also built strong bridges so people could cross rivers safely. I even built long pipes to bring fresh, clean water to the city. Everything I made had to be helpful and lovely to look at, too.
I spent my whole life building. I built hundreds of mosques, bridges, schools, and palaces. I lived a very long and happy life and was about 98 years old when my story ended in the year 1588. My buildings were so strong that many of them are still standing today for you to see. People from all over the world visit them to see how beautiful they are. My love for building lives on in the amazing places I left behind.
