Vishnu Sharma

Hello! My name is Vishnu Sharma. I was a storyteller and a teacher who lived a very long time ago, around the 3rd century BCE, in a place called India. There was a great king named Amarashakti who had a big worry. He had three sons, but they did not like to learn. The king was sad because he wanted them to be wise enough to be good kings one day. He needed a very special teacher to help them.

King Amarashakti heard about me and asked if I could help. I made a big promise to him. I told him I could make his sons the wisest princes in the whole land. And I could do it in just six months! The king was very surprised. He asked, "How will you do that?" I told him my secret plan. I would not use any boring books. Instead, I would teach the princes everything they needed to know with fun stories about animals who could talk and think like people.

I sat with the princes and told them my stories. There were tales about a clever rabbit, a strong lion, and friendly doves. I also told them about a tricky jackal. Every story had a special lesson hidden inside. The lessons were about how to be a good friend, how to be smart, and how to be kind. The princes loved my stories so much! They listened carefully every single day. They learned all the lessons without even knowing they were studying.

My stories were so wonderful that they were written down in a book called the Panchatantra. My life was very long ago, but people all over the world still read my fables today. Children and grown-ups read them to learn how to be wise and good, just like the princes did.
