Just want Vishnu Sharma?
Hello! My name is Vishnu Sharma. I was a scholar and a teacher who lived in India a very long, long time ago. One day, a king named Amarashakti came to me with a big problem. He had three sons, but they did not want to learn. They would rather play all day than study books. The king was worried they would not be wise enough to rule the kingdom one day. He asked me, 'Can you teach my sons everything they need to know to be good leaders?'. I told him I could, and I promised to do it in just six months!
I knew that reading big, boring books would not work for these princes. I needed a more fun and clever way to teach them. So, I thought of a special idea! I decided to tell them stories. But these weren't just any stories. They were fables about talking animals! I created tales about clever lions, tricky jackals, loyal monkeys, and wise turtles. Each story had a secret lesson hidden inside. Through the adventures of these animals, I taught the princes about friendship, being smart, how to choose good friends, and how to solve problems without fighting. I divided my stories into five books, which is why my collection is called the 'Panchatantra,' meaning 'Five Treatises' or 'Five Books'.
The princes loved my stories! They would listen carefully to every tale, excited to find out what the animals would do next. They learned how a group of doves could work together to escape a hunter's net and how a clever rabbit could outsmart a mighty lion. Without even realizing it, the king's sons were learning the most important lessons about life and how to be fair and kind rulers. Just as I had promised, in six months, the princes were transformed into wise young men, ready to lead.

My life was dedicated to sharing knowledge in a way that everyone could understand. The stories I created for the princes were so popular that they were written down and shared all across India and then the world. The Panchatantra has been translated into many, many languages. For thousands of years, my tales about clever and brave animals have continued to teach children and adults important lessons. I am remembered as a storyteller who believed that the best way to learn is through a good story.
