I Am the Quran: A Story of Loving Words
Shhh. Can you hear that. It is a whisper, like a gentle song floating on the breeze. My words are messages of love and kindness. They first came to a warm, sandy land a long, long time ago, where the sun shines bright and the stars twinkle at night. My words are very special, and they are here to fill your heart with happiness. I am the Quran.
My story begins in a cave on a tall mountain. A long time ago, around the year 610, God sent a special messenger, an angel named Jibril, to visit a very kind man named Muhammad. The angel shared my first words with him. For many years, the angel kept visiting Muhammad, sharing more and more of my beautiful words. Muhammad's friends and family listened with big smiles. They loved my words so much that they learned them by heart. They wrote them down on flat stones and big palm leaves to keep them safe forever.
After Muhammad's time on Earth ended in the year 632, his friends wanted to make sure my words would never be lost. They gathered all the stones and all the leaves with my words written on them. Very carefully, around the year 650, they put all my words together to make one big, special book. That book is me. I am a book of stories and guidance for people called Muslims. I teach them how to be kind, how to share, and how to love one another. All around the world, people read my words, and it sounds like a beautiful song that connects all their hearts.
