The story

I Am The Three Musketeers

Shhh, listen close. Can you hear the soft rustle of my pages? I am a book, and I am full of secrets and excitement. My pages hold stories of shiny swords that go clang, clang, clang. They tell of fast horses with galloping feet that go clippity-clop. Most of all, I hold the story of the greatest friends you could ever imagine. I am a very special adventure that fits right in your hands. I am a story called The Three Musketeers.

My story was born from the big imagination of a man named Alexandre Dumas. He created me a long, long time ago, in the year 1844. He lived in a beautiful, busy city called Paris. With his pen and some dark ink, he wrote about a young, brave boy named d'Artagnan. More than anything, d'Artagnan wanted to be a Musketeer, a special kind of brave helper to the king. On his journey, he met three amazing new friends. Their names were Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. Together, they made a promise to always help each other, no matter what. They would shout a special saying: 'All for one, and one for all!'. That was their way of saying they were a team, always and forever.

For so many years, children and grown-ups have opened my pages to read about these four brave friends. They love the exciting adventures and the fancy parties. But the part they love the most is seeing how the Musketeers always stick together and help one another. My story is a big reminder that being a good and true friend is the most wonderful adventure of all. Even today, when you hear someone say, 'All for one, and one for all!', you are hearing my story's echo, which teaches us that friendship is the best treasure you can ever find.
