Just want Uffizi Gallery?
Hello there. I stretch along a beautiful river in a sunny city called Florence, in Italy. I have long hallways with big, bright windows that let the sunshine dance on my floors. From my windows, you can see a famous bridge. What am I? I am the Uffizi Gallery, a special house for amazing pictures and art.
A long, long time ago, I was not a house for pictures. I was a house for helpers. A kind man named Cosimo wanted a special place for people who helped run the city. He asked his friend, a builder named Giorgio, to make me. They started putting my stones together, like big blocks, in the year 1560. They called me 'Uffizi,' which means 'offices.' I was a very busy place.
The family who owned me loved pretty things. They filled my rooms with beautiful paintings and statues. It was their special secret treasure. But then, they decided to share. In the year 1769, they opened my doors for everyone to come and see. Now, friends from all over the world walk my halls. They smile when they see the colorful pictures. I love sharing my treasures and making people happy. I am here to show you how wonderful stories in pictures can be.
