Just want Honesty?
Hi. I'm Honesty. You can't see me, but you can feel me in your heart. I am the choice to tell the truth, even when it’s a little scary. I remember when a boy named Leo accidentally broke his mom’s favorite mug. His tummy felt all wiggly because he wanted to hide the pieces and not get in trouble. But I was there with him, whispering that telling the truth was the right thing to do. Being honest means you are brave and fair. It shows that you are someone your friends and family can always trust.
Leo took a deep breath and decided to listen to me. He found his mom and said, 'I broke your mug. I’m so sorry.' It was hard for him to say those words, and he was worried that she'd be mad. But his mom gave him a big hug. She was sad about the mug, but she was very proud of him for being honest. As soon as he told the truth, the wiggly feeling in his tummy went away. It was replaced with a warm, proud feeling inside. Now, his mom knows she can always trust him. That’s my superpower. I help build trust between people, making friendships and families stronger. I learned that being honest helps you feel good inside and helps others feel good about you, too.
