The Moose's Big Adventure
Hi there. I'm a Moose, and I am the biggest and tallest animal in the whole deer family. I have long, skinny legs that help me walk through deep snow. My big, floppy nose is great for sniffing out yummy snacks. If you see a moose with huge, wide paddles on his head, that's a boy moose. We call those antlers. They fall off and grow back bigger every single year. Isn't that silly?
My favorite thing to do is eat, eat, eat. I am an herbivore, which is a big word that means I only eat plants. I love munching on tasty leaves, twigs, and bark from willow and birch trees. Sometimes, the best snacks are underwater. I'm a super swimmer, and I can dip my whole head under the water to pull up yummy water plants. Splash.
I live in the cool forests of the north, where it gets very snowy in the winter. My thick, brown fur coat keeps me warm and cozy. By munching on so many plants, I help the forest stay healthy and make open spaces for new little plants to grow. I love my big, beautiful home, and my story is important because I help take care of the forest for all the other animals.
