Just want Merlin?
Deep in a big, green forest, lived a wise man named Merlin. The trees whispered secrets to him, and the stars twinkled like shiny glitter. Merlin knew a very special story was about to happen, a story about a boy who would become a great king. This is the story of the Legend of King Arthur.
The land needed a good, kind king, but who would it be? Merlin the wise man had a wonderful idea. He put a beautiful, shiny sword into a big, gray stone. The sword was magic, and its name was Excalibur. Only the true king could pull it out. Big, strong men came to try. They pulled and they pulled, but the sword did not move one bit. One day, a young boy named Arthur came to the stone. He was not big, and he was not loud, but he had a kind heart. Arthur put his little hands on the sword. He gave a gentle tug, and whoosh. The sword slid right out. It was as easy as pulling a flower from the grass. The sword glowed in his hands. Everyone was so surprised. The small boy was the true king.
Arthur grew up to be the best king ever. He was so kind and so brave. He built a big, shiny castle called Camelot for everyone to be safe in. He asked his friends to help him rule with kindness. They were the Knights of the Round Table, and they sat at a big, round table so everyone felt important. They promised to be good and help anyone who was sad or needed help. The story of King Arthur teaches us that you do not have to be the biggest or strongest to be a great leader. A kind heart is the most important thing of all.
