My Body's Super-Charger

Resting is like plugging in a phone when the battery is low. It’s not just about sleeping at night; it’s about taking short breaks during the day to let my body and brain recharge. When I feel tired after school or a soccer game, taking a few minutes to rest helps me get my energy back so I can focus on my homework or have fun playing again.

When I need to rest, the first thing I do is find a quiet and comfy spot, like my bed or a soft chair. I make sure to put away things that can distract me, like my tablet or the TV. Then, I close my eyes and take a few slow, deep breaths, feeling my belly go up and down. Sometimes I just sit and notice how my body feels for a few minutes until I feel calmer and more ready for what’s next.

Resting doesn't always mean being perfectly still. Sometimes, the best way for me to rest my brain is by doing something quiet that I enjoy. This could be reading a book, listening to calm music, drawing a picture, or even just looking out the window and watching the clouds. It’s about giving my mind a break from busy thoughts and hard work.

My body tells me when it needs a break. If I start feeling grumpy for no reason, have trouble paying attention to my teacher, or just feel extra tired, I know it's a signal to rest. Ignoring these feelings makes it harder to learn and play, but taking a short break helps me reset and feel like myself again.

Taking time to rest helps me in so many ways. It gives me the energy I need to play with my friends, helps my brain remember things I learn in school, and keeps me from feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. Resting is a powerful tool that helps me stay healthy, happy, and ready for any challenge.
